We weren’t ready for the trend that is now our lifestyle – Work From Home. The working environment has changed dramatically in the past two years. I think it’s about time we say goodbye to 2021 and look forward to the changes 2022 will bring. The HR industry might be accustomed to some trends already, but for those who are not, here they are:
1.Introducing the Hybrid Working Model – A hybrid working model has been making rounds for a while now, and many companies have already implemented it. Work policies, patterns, and flexibility are the focus. Those organizations that embrace remote working trends will be able to carve out a niche for themselves.
2.Employee Wellness is the focus – Recall the famous Zerodha policy rewarding employees for staying fit and healthy? It is pretty much the future. Improving employee psychological and physical wellbeing is one of the biggest goals for the coming year.
3.Gen Z has arrived! – Dealing with almost all four generations in an organization would be a challenge. Across all generations, from Baby Boomers to Gen Y to Millennials to Gen Z, everyone has a different approach and idea of what a job should be like, and fitting all generations into the same organization seems like a challenge.
4.Employee Upskilling – Technological advances are happening at lightning speed, which makes it imperative to keep up with current technical requirements. Organizations need to focus on training their employees and making them ready for future challenges. It is a win for the organization when employees understand the upcoming workplace and jobs.
5.Artificial Intelligence and HRM -The website cmswire.com included a statistic to the effect that 50 percent of workers use artificial intelligence at work compared to only 32 percent in 2018.There is no doubt that AI has benefited HRM. Artificial Intelligence aids in analyzing, interpreting and making more informed decisions. Recruiting, training, onboarding, and performance analysis are all taken care of. Organizations have more time to spend on other tasks.
HR responsibilities have now become dynamic and challenging, with exciting changes ahead, in light of a paradigm shift in the way companies work. One trend worth mentioning is the trend of outsourcing HR services in the coming years. HR professionals’ expertise and knowledge is steadily gaining in relevance. So to all HRs, best of luck!
